A movement and wellness studio in Hayward, California needed more than a brochure site. It needed pages that explained each offering clearly, a booking flow that didn’t send people to a dead end, and a foundation that would show up when someone nearby searched for what the studio does.

This is a start-to-finish look at how that went for Solid Ground Movement, and what we’d tell any wellness business thinking about a website.

A note on what you won’t find here: invented numbers. We haven’t put a traffic percentage or a “rank #1” claim in this post, because we’d rather show you the work than a statistic we can’t stand behind.

The starting point

Wellness studios tend to run on trust. People choose a movement teacher the way they choose a hairdresser: by feel, by recommendation, and by whether the place seems like it will be warm when they walk in.

That creates two problems for a studio website:

  1. It has to feel like the studio. A generic template reads as a stranger.
  2. It has to be findable. Most of the people who would love a studio never heard of it. They typed “yoga near me” or “movement classes in hayward” and clicked whatever Google showed them.

A pretty site that nobody finds, or a findable site that feels like nothing, solves half the problem. We built for both.

What we built

A multi-page site with a page for each offering. Instead of one long page trying to explain everything, each service got its own page. That helps visitors, because someone interested in one thing isn’t wading through five others. It also helps search, because a page about one clear topic is easier for Google to match to a search than a page about everything.

A visual identity that felt like the studio. Warm earth tones (terracotta, sage and cream) with a refined serif for headings and a clean sans-serif for body text. The goal was that someone arriving from Instagram would feel they’d landed in the same place.

Booking that lives inside the site. Scheduling is handled through Acuity and built into the site so visitors can book without being sent somewhere that looks like a different business.

An events section. Studios run workshops, and workshops need their own home. We built an events section for a “Move to Flow” workshop, with booking attached, so a one-off event didn’t have to be squeezed into the main navigation.

The local search side

This is the part most small business owners skip, and it’s the part that decides whether the site gets seen.

On-page SEO on every page. Each page got its own title, description and headings written around what a nearby person would actually type, instead of the studio’s internal vocabulary.

A Google Business Profile. For a physical studio, this is often how people first meet you: the map result, the hours, the reviews, the “call” button. We set it up so those details were accurate and the profile pointed back to the site.

Clear location signals. A local business needs to say, plainly and consistently, where it is. That’s what tells search engines which searches to show it for.

None of this is glamorous. It’s the groundwork that lets everything else pay off after launch.

What we won’t claim

Search takes time, and results depend on competition, reviews, and how consistently a profile is looked after. We’ve set up the foundation properly. We haven’t promised, and won’t promise, a particular ranking.

What a wellness business should take from this

If you run a studio, a practice, or any local wellness business, here’s the short version:

  • Give each offering its own page. It helps visitors and search at the same time.
  • Make booking part of the site. Every redirect to a different-looking page loses people.
  • Set up your Google Business Profile properly. For many local businesses it’s the first impression.
  • Write for the person searching, not for yourself. Use the words a stranger would type.
  • Treat launch as the start. The groundwork pays off over months, not days.
